Okay, so some post on Beg for more had offended a lot of people, myself included. Right now, I'm going to be saying my opinion of religion, and I how I think religion should be viewed on Stardoll.
My Beliefs are a bit like this:

- - -
something I found on Tumblr. You see, I am a pure Catholic, my parents are at least. But there are some things in the rules of catholocism I'd rather bend.
Gay Marriage, is something I think people make a big deal out of if you are Christian/Catholic and whatnot. I'm definitely straight, but for me, I think anyone has the right to be with anyone they want, let that be a male or female.
Just like that, I also believe in Evolution, there's so much logic behind it, but What I believe is that God did create the first animals in the world, and eventually those animals evolved.
When I was a kid, I believed that that god created humans right away, but school actually influenced me into the ways i think right now.
LoveGossip4Life made a good statement on the BFM post,
"RELIGION SEPARATES HUMAN BEINGS, AND I QUITE FRANKLY GET CHILLS WHEN SOMEONE COMPARES ONE RELIGION TO ANOTHER"
Perfect, Lindsey. Perfect. Culture is at the roots of religion, If people choose to be muslim, it's probably because it suits their taste of culture. They're meant to be different. If you choose to be Atheist or Agnostic, that's perfectly fine! If you're a pure Christian, Muslim, Jew, Hindu, or any other religion, that's fine! I'm not going to judge you. and neither should anyone else.
Thing is, it's when people judge people's beliefs. It becomes really messy, and I've come to realize in the past year through APEC that Religion causes so many wars. It's kind of scary.
Overall, even though I am technically doing it right now, i clearly said on the BFM post that we shouldn't talk about religion on Stardoll. And if you do, you deliver it in the right way, making sure not to make strong statements.
Well, I'm off.
cats.
Good post. I don't think we should really talk about religion on Stardoll. But I do have to say, gay stuff is just icky. Even if I wasn't a Catholic, I would still find it disgusting. I know loads of people say they don't mind it - but I think half of them are just trying not to discriminate.

Also, just to say, how the heck can you be a Catholic and believe in that stuff??

hmm, where to begin?
ReplyDeleteLet's start with this: I've grown up with my best friends being Indian and hindu. In our group of Indian friends, I am the only one who is catholic. Along with doing Lyrical dance, I also do Classical indian dance, which has songs that praise the indian gods. I don't believe in them, but they actually have good ideals, and the meaning behind the religion is good. I'm an open minded person, I let other ideas influence the ideas I already have. I guess that's how stuff like Gay marriage and Evolution seeped into the way I see religion.
I take AP bio, and a good few units have stuff on evolution. with so much to see for proof, it's easy to recreate my idea of Catholicism.
I believe that God is a forgiving figure. He will accept people for who they are. the only people he shan't forgive are those who have heavily sinned. [murder, rape, etc. etc.].
I hope you take nothing into offence, I accept the way you have a hard time grasping my thought on Gays. I only really accepted Gay marriage fully this year. My AP bio teacher herself is a lesbian, and she is loved among everyone. I just don't like thinking that the religion is kind of against people like her. Another idea that influenced my thoughts.
overall, yeah. This is why I believe in "that stuff". :3
Don't worry, I didn't mean i offensively :) Although it was kinda harsh, sorry :( It's more that Catholicism is a big no-no to that kinda stuff, that's why I was curious about your religion :)
