MDM has been frozen in time.
4 years of commitment has been set in stone.
but no more can make an etch.

When I first decided to type 'stardoll' in google, there was the main website, and then the popularized blogs that shared the same name somewhere within their cleverly created titles. Of course, Underneath Stardoll is what I clicked on; it's nothing new.
But the blog in itself was boring. The freebies helped, but everything else was very unappealing towards a non superstar member who had no intention to use anymore of their 20 stardollars.
I discovered the concept of media partners, and under that little tab; there was MDM, a unique little icon with black, white, and tiffany blue: my favorite color combination at the time.

MDM was an active world, full of energy and interest back then. There was gossip, there were competitions, and there were the great writers who made beautiful points. There were the weird people who hacked for virtual clothes. There were the people who had virtual boyfriends. MDM's prime time was a great time, and the audience that came with it were always satiated with whatever came with them.
things were debated.
opinions were appreciated.
writers were appreciated.
all was well.
-
then the 'blogging drought' came up; a big excuse for writer's block that just hit everyone at the same time. The old audiences decided to depart their lovely website and blogs; new people, people who'd probably stayed silent or starting floating in to join came in.
some of those new people were not pleasant. Slowly they started crossing lines, transcending barriers, and to be flat out straight: annoying the hell out of people.
They were called the anonymous. Okay, fine. anonymous has been used in a lot of places, but these select few were what started diminishing every blog. Eating out of those blogs, not unlike PSG.
-
What they did eventually culminated. It grew like a tumor, and it's affected people as well as some blogs as a whole. We saw this with PSG, and now it's happened to MDM.
-
It's not moral to close it like that, so quickly, when other writers were going to begin their mark on there. But it's right. It's right to have such an audience know what they've done. It's right to see how many people have been affected because of they burden they have placed.

there is a limit on what to say about something.
it's really up to you to know that limit.
but if you don't it can lead to several things.
MDM is just a fraction; it's a baby lesson.
one day, you'll be confronted and tempted to say things in the future.
but it's up to you to know the limit.
Love your post Manny! That's the point, some people just don't know when they cross the line ._.
ReplyDeleteWow, Amanda, I miss you. Like, I don't even know if you'll see this, but I miss you. [; I feel really, really cheesy, but I just miss you. It was fun having conversations with you, and I loved talking to you on Halloween. (Remember air guitars?) You were probably the best friend I had on Stardoll, and now I don't even know how to reach you. I just wanted to tell you I miss you, and your Tumblr is awesome. I discovered Ed Sheeran as well. I suggest you look up Marina and The Diamonds. I dunno if it's your kind of music, but I just want you to know what I've been listening to lately. Isn't it funny how something that means so much to one person can be invisible to the person it's meant for?

Isabel! I just saw this! wow it has been a while! I miss you as well, you were always there for me and we had a ton of fun during those days. Thanks for the tumblr comment! It means a lot (although i post the most ridiculous things) Ed is beautiful his voice is just amazing i cry everytime i hear it (not really) And I do Know Marina! She has quirky music, like Lana del Rey, I absolutely love it. I'm surprised she isn't featured in the celeb part of magazines on SD, i thought she'd be all over them.
DeleteAnd it's not invisible, Isabel. Don't worry. How have you been?
