as a girl who lives a rather lackluster life, I find drama quite appealing.
And today I stumbled over a pleasant (yet confusing) greeting on blogger.
MDM was returning!
Yay!
and then I actually read the most recent post?
Well, let's just say my glee in having something interesting while off the blogging scene would not be fulfilled soon.
Sorry, last time I checked, MDM was an area of sophisticated-ish writing, not a place where you could diss the readers to your own pleasure. We get it darling, Aislin deleted you off the blog. Boo hoo. I was never a big fan of Aislin, but I'm sure if I had stuck to writing on MDM and we had talked a bit more she would have been a lovely person. Anyway, to go back on track, I find this "icone" (too lazy to add the triangle thing)/Isabella to have the voice of Massie from The Clique (I cannot believe I picked up that book in 6th grade; and the fact i am actually alluding to it.) And to be frank, seeing something similar to the whole "totes adorbs" voice does not add any sugar to my chai. My chai also enjoys a dash of maturity as well.
And good god, spoilers? Sorry, is this USD?
I was never there for MDM's "golden days" (rather i was there for the end) But even at that time Isabella.Arci was just a floating name. There was no solid proof of her existence unless you counted those old posts. But I always thought of her as some grandesque 20 something year old? My gosh, i see anons who told Aislin to grow up, at least Aislin had the aura of someone who flipped to the hard words in the dictionary every once in a while.
I feel like we gave Aislin and Dei less credit than what was actually worth. We were a tough audience. We tried to bite at everything she said. And it sickens me that once this all too familiar face comes back from whatever black hole she was in, everyone accepts her. Yes, she was part of the original two, but really, what did she do to try and extend MDM's lifeline. Not much.
I'm not speaking from any biased POV, I will openly say that I was not very close to Dei and Aislin, and I don't think any of us really wanted to be. I'm speaking from a POV of someone who sees it as it is. Basically reflecting. And I haven't written something like this in ages, so my points may be all over the place. Apologies.
At times like these, I like to quote this article I wrote for HAUTE's debut issue; (okay i can't directly quote it but i said something like while stardoll wants to give us new things we just wanted an anti-revolution blah blah blah). I'd rather have MDM moving towards the place they were going to get to if It had stayed active. I didn't want it to do some weird hairpin swerve.
Whatever. I'm not sure why I'm even caring that much as I haven't seen the face of Stardoll for 500 million weeks. (ah, how I've missed exaggerating).
Anyway, it's nice to talk to you all after...2 months? w ow
I hope your year is going by smoothly. How have you all been?
